    ESPUMA® Gentle family is absorbent wound dressing made of polyurethane foam. The outermost layer is bacteria-proof, virus-proof and waterproof polyurethane film. The wound contact layer is perforated soft silicone gel that allows painless and atraumatic removal and permits the passage of exudate to the absorbent foam layer.

    ESPUMA® Gentle Xtra Comfort is a multi-layered dressing consisting of absorbent foam with additional highly absorbent layer and having an adhesive outermost border.

    • Gentle soft Silicone gel allows atraumatic dressing removal.
    • Pattern coated silicone or perforated silicone film, allow free passage of wound exudate to the foam so prevents skin maceration.
    • High absorption capacity polyurethane foam also provides a cushioning effect.
    • Highly breathable top sheet allows evaporation of absorbed exudates, thus it enhances fluid handling capacity of the dressing.
    • Being waterproof, the top sheet prevents strike through and allows showering while the dressing is in place.

    ESPUMA® Gentle Family is an effective tool for moist wound healing, having high capacity of autolytic debridement and it is particularly useful in preventing dressing-related trauma especially in people with fragile skin. It’s indicated for a wide range of exuding wounds as: pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, skin graft, first and second degree burns. Can be used in combination with compression therapy.

    The Lite variants are indicated for low exuding and traumatic wounds as: abrasions, blisters and skin tears.

    The variants containing carbon are for malodorous acute and chronic wounds as carbon adsorb offensive odor.


    • The dressing may be used on infected wounds only under the care of a healthcare professional.
    • Reuse may lead to increased risk of infection or cross contamination.
    • ESPUMA® Gentle Family dressings should not be used with oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite solution or hydrogen peroxide, as these agents can break down the absorbent polyurethane component of the dressing.
    • The dressing should not be used on patients with a known sensitivity to silicone or polyurethane.

  • How To Use

    1. Cleanse the wound in accordance with local clinical protocols.
    2. Select an appropriate dressing size that overlaps the wound margin by at least two centimeters.
    3. Remove the sterile dressing from the package using aseptic technique.

    For variants with adhesive border:

    1. Remove the central paper window (if present).
    2. Remove the large flap of the release liner to expose the adhesive portion of the dressing.
    3. Position into place while removing the smaller flap of the release liner of the dressing.
    4. Slowly remove the paper frame while smoothing down around the dressing to ensure good adhesion.
    5. To remove the dressing, loosen the border before lifting the dressing away from the wound.
